The youth exchange ‘Social Justice: For our future’ will gather 32 participants from Ireland, Norway, Macedonia, France and Lithuania. The exchange itself will happen in Wicklow, just outside Dublin, in the period of 14 – 22 March. 

This exchange is the first in a sequence of two youth exchanges within this project, and the second one will happen in July in Lithuania. All participants to this exchange are invited to also apply and participate in the second one in this project.

During the youth exchange we will work on the topic of inclusion and human rights, focusing more on diversity, gender, gender rights and LGBT rights.

The main objectives of this youth exchange are: 

  • To explore stereotypes and challenges related to gender and sexuality
  • To explore human rights, social justice and gender equality
  • To acquire skills to promote positive participation in society
  • To develop an action plan of follow-up activities to be implemented on local levels.

 

Draft agenda of the project: 

Day 1:

  • Welcome to the youth exchange
  • Introductions and getting to know each other activities
  • Getting to know the venue and rules 
  • Going through the programme 

Day 2:

  • Teambuilding activities
  • Fears, expectations and contributions
  • Treasure hunt
  • Free evening

Day 3: 

  • Stereotypes ‘Gender in a box’
  • Outdoor activities
  • Intercultural evening

Day 4:

  • Discrimination and differences between discrimination and stereotypes
  • Presentation on different local realities on the topic of gender and LGBT discrimination
  • Introduction to the method ‘Theatre of the oppressed’
  • Free evening

Day 5:

  • Theatre of the oppressed
  • Visit to Dublin
  • Traditional Irish evening

Day 6:

  • Theatre of the oppressed
  • Free evening

Day 7: 

  • Presentation of Erasmus+
  • Youth Pass
  • Evaluation of the previous days and our fears, expectations and contributions for the exchange
  • Farewell party

Day 8: 

  • Departure day

 

Profile of the participants

  • Group leaders: Above 18 years old and no upper age limit
  • Group leaders: Previous experience in youth work or group leading 
  • Participants: 18 – 22 years old
  • Be interested in the topic and willing to actively participate in all the activities of the project
  • Be able to work in English 
  • Willing to share the acquired knowledge with other members of CID

 

Financial aspects of the project: 

  • Food and accommodation will be 100% covered by the organizers.
  • Travel costs will be covered up to 270 EUR. 
    The participant will be reimbursed for this costs after the project, once they have provided all original tickets and boarding passes. 
  • The applicant has to be able to apply for visa for Ireland latest by 15 February. Visa for Ireland is free of a charge for residents of Macedonia. 
  • No participation fee! 
  • Sending fee (payable to CID for confirmation): 500 MKD
