Center for Intercultural Dialogue (Macedonia), in partnership with Belgrade Open School (Serbia), Youth Association Alfa Albona (Croatia), Institute for Youth Development KULT (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Albanian Center for Population and Development (Albania) and Centre for Civic Education (Montenegro) is happy to announce a call for researcher to do a research on youth unemployment in Macedonia as part of the project “WEstern Balkan youth WORK(s) for youth Employability! (WEBWORK) – Regional initiative for a common approach to youth employability”.

Required profile of the researcher:

  • Experience in making researches of national proportions;
  • Flexibility in responding to the project’ changing needs;
  • Ability to contribute to and work in an intercultural team;
  • Ability to disseminate the results in a creative and affective way;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Fluency in English.

 

What is expected from the researcher:

  • Gathering relevant data on youth unemployment in Macedonia country (the current situation regarding the youth unemployment and the public policies aimed at the improvement of the current situation)
  • The key employability skills and competencies that youth in your country need to develop
  • The detailed description of the each employability skill/competency listed
  • The methods used in Macedonia for development of the listed skills and competencies
  • The example of the youth organizations in Macedonia which successfully develops one of the skills/competencies of young people through its activities (the activities of your organization might serve as an example too)
  • Informing the project coordinator of any delays related to the research
  • Providing the project coordinator with weekly reports on the ongoing process
  • Assisting in the dissemination process of the information
  • Attending weekly meetings

 

Working Methodology:

The methods for identification of the key employability skills in your country to be used:

1) Analysis of the active employment measures which target competencies of young people,

2) Data regarding the attitude of employers on what skills and competencies the young people lack, which could be collected from the employers union,  employment service, chamber of commerce or other relevant institutions,

3) Consultations with key stakeholders from ministries in charge of youth issues, national employment services, employers’ associations, national chambers of commerce and national youth councils…)
