From the 25th of August to the 2nd of September Anita Beqiri, who works as a youth worker in MultiКулти youth center, attended a training course named “Strengthening Youth Capacity for Conflict Management and Peace-Building” in Yerevan, Armenia. The training represents the second phase of a long-term project supported by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme.

This is what Anita shared with us:

This training course was a good experience for me. All the people I met there were amazing and we created beautiful memories. It also helped to me to practice English and work on my self-confidence. We learned a lot from this project, we had all we need in our daily life. We were all youth workers and we learned more about how to deal with problems that can happen while we are working with young people; we also worked together to see how we can solve those problems, create strategies; they gave us some ideas on how to be more creative and successful.

We had a lot of activities that were quite interesting but the one that was the best it was throwing the egg on the floor without breaking it, and we needed to work as a group to solve that problem. We needed to use all the materials that we had inside and there were only a few choices so we had to create something. I personally found the Armenian language and letters a big challenge, since we had to go in the city and ask people to translate some words but they don’t speak English and it was so hard for us to communicate with them.

After the training, Anita will implement local activities in the youth center, after which she will meet again the project team in Belgrade for an evaluation seminar.
