Center for Intercultural Dialogue (CID), together with Armenian Progressive Youth (APY) and Youthfully Yours (YY) are partners in a KA2 project called Up2You(th)!
The project aims at promoting youth engagement and active citizenship through exchange of best practices and equipping youth workers and educators with capacity, tools and methods to work effectively with individual youngsters and groups of young people not active on a local level.
The Strategic Partnership pursues the following goals:
A. Building capacities of 15 youth workers, project managers and educators to effectively outreach and engage individual youngsters and groups of young people not active on local level in partner countries;
B. Jointly exploring new forms of youth engagement and active citizenship, including digital participation;
C. Equipping youth workers and youth organizations with capacity, tools and methods to deliver high quality workshops on youth participation and active citizenship;
D. Identifying main obstacles for youth participation through a Survey on “Youth participation in community life” among young people;
E. Exchanging methods, training materials and best practices on youth participation and civic engagement between partners;
F. Supporting youth workers and trainers to incorporate values and methodologies of youth participation and active citizenship in the work of their organizations.
The project has a set of activities, which one of them was a Learning training teaching activity and took place in Yrevan, Armenia.
5 youngsters from North Macedonia took part in this training and Marijana Asprovska shared her story with us.
Last September, together with four more representatives from North Macedonia, I took part in the KA2 partnership building project’s activity in Yerevan, Armenia. Hosted by the partner organisation of CID from Yerevan, called Armenian Progressive Youth, we had the chance to discuss research and outreach when it comes to conducting surveys targeting young people.
The third partner organisation from Slovakia, called Youthfully yours, shared valuable knowledge on how they cooperate with the municipality in order to gather higher number of responses which will help them understand why the local youth does not take a more active part in the non-formal education programmes.
Overall, it was a useful and beneficial experience that taught us more on the given topic, as well as Armenian culture and food since we had the chance to visit local restaurants and sights in Yerevan and its surroundings.
