Project description

Bunkr,o.p.s. is a non-profit organisation that reacts to children´s and youth´s difficult life situations, accompanies them during growing up, supports their social bonding in communities and families. We focus mainly on prevention. We take seriously and listen to all of our clients’ worries and try to support and accompany our clients throughout a process of coping with and overcoming the difficulties. We create a safe environment in which our clients can meet with their peers. Together with our clients we organize creative and inspiring activities. We try to positively influence our clients’ values, attitudes and motivations.
Each volunteer becomes part of the working team and helps with preparation of the program in our Clubs, at Streetwork, in the Music Rehearsal room or during organizing various entertaining and educative events. All volunteers are given the opportunity to show and develop their own skills.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers share a four bedroom flat together but they all have their own room. The flat is situated in a quiet residential area, around 10 minutes by bus to the town center.
A monthly bus ticket is provided by the organisation.
Food allowance will be 130 Euro per month and the volunteer will also receive pocket money of 90 euros (total 220 euro per month).

Training during the project

All volunteers have to take part in obligatory training such as on-arrival and midterm. Apart from that we organise special EVS training for volunteers each year and a training/team-building for whole organisation.

Volunteer profile

  • Volunteers need to have a positive approach to children and young people and possess a good understanding of different lifestyles.
  • They need to be sensitive and respectful towards children and young people’s social needs.
  • An experience with social work or free time activities is welcomed but not an obligation.
We need creative people who can enrich our team and program.
  • The volunteers should be able to speak English or Czech on a communicative level, because they will need to communicate with clients and other workers on daily basis.
