Open days_august 2012(1)In July young people from three different municipalities in the region of Kumanovo – Staro Nagorichane, Proevce and Opae – had a chance to participate in the “Open Days”. The main goal of “Open Days” was to introduce the young people from rural areas with activities they can participate in to become more active in the society.

During the three events the Center for Intercultural DialogueMultikultiPhoto Cinema “Kozjak 50”Association KranRed CrossRoma Community Center “DROM” and Youth Educational Forum opened their doors and presented different opportunities they offer to young people.

Through creative workshops, discussions and movies the team of young activists helped to increase the involvement of young people in their society. For most of the young people it was the first time to participate in that kind of event and to learn more about the opportunities that exist in their area.

The ‘Open days” were organized by a group of young activists who participated in the School of Active Citizenship (Training for Youth Activism) organized by the Youth Education Forum, as part of USAID project for civil society. During the training the youth took part in interactive workshops, learned about activism and volunteering and participated in public discussions about how to collaborate and be active in a multiethnic society.
