Step by Step in mentoring of EVSFrom the 3rd – 11th of March, CID organised the training course “Step by Step in mentoring of EVS”. The training aimed to provide an introduction into mentoring and competence development for EVS mentors. This project was developed in the framework of the European Year of Volunteering.

A total of 20 participants from 10 different European countries were present in Skopje and engaged in exploring topics of volunteering, mentoring and facilitation of learning. These ‘future mentors’ were trained by Nik Patterson (British Freelancer), Stefan (CID), Milosh (CID) and Dragan (CreACTive).

All participants agreed that it is important to go through a theoretical part to build a foundation, but more important is the personal development. Trainings like this help you to discover yourself and new things in you. It brings up new ideas and helps you to set up news goals in life.

Marta (17) from Macedonia shared: “This is really an intercultural event and I must say that several stereotypes are broken now. Trainings like these increase ones self-confidence and teach you how to say your opinion out loud.”

Portia (27) from Wales was convinced that trainings like these help her to become better youth worker.

Thank you trainers! You are doing a great job!
