Olga Nikolaeva Ivanova is doing her two months service as part of the project “Ajde Makedonija: Exchange of European Experiences in Youth Work”, implemented within the Youth in Action Programme, under the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility.
Here is her introduction story:
Hi, луѓе I am the new volunteer from EVS. I arrived here two weeks ago. I am from Sofia, Bulgaria! And I have to say that my project found me. I was looking through some volunteer programs and I went to one meeting of former EVS volunteers who were just coming back from the Balkans, so their stories inspired me.
I am on a short term project called “Ajde Makedonija” and I am so happy to be here.
The city is great, the people are amazingly nice. I am glad to say that I am already involved in a couple of projects. I can’t wait to have the opportunity to work on my ideas with the local youth community.
I am taking Macedonian lessons; despite the fact that Bulgarian and Macedonian are similar, it is still hard for me to start speaking. Fingers crossed that by the end of my two month visit I will be able to speak freely with the locals!
It is such a pleasure to meet so many great people!
Olga
