This year CID has a long-term cooperation with NED – National Endowment for DemocracyThe project that CID is managing in cooperation with NED is named ”Youth Voice Macedonia” and includes several training courses that will prepare young people for developing public advocacy campaigns.

The first training course “Youth Civic Engagement and Advocacy” happened between 16 and 21 June and targeted motivated high school students from 3 different communities in Kumanovo, Lipkovo and Staro Nagoricane. The aim of the training was to strengthen the capacities of the youngsters and to create community teams which will implement advocacy campaigns in their communities. The training was delivered by trainers form CID and FPDL Romania, experts in community organizing and youth advocacy initiatives. The flow of the training created a dynamic group of participants which had a chance through interactive activities to learn about community organizing, community mapping and creating advocacy plans, as well as developing their intercultural learning and increasing their intercultural awareness.

After the training in June, the second training will follow in August, with the aim to further develop the skills of community organisers, and to create an action plan which will involve different stakeholders form the selected communities.
