About the project ‘‘Volunteering for Acceptance and Tolerance’’

The project ‘‘Volunteering for Acceptance and Tolerance” is an international long-term project, built around the idea of voluntary service as a main tool in raising awareness of human rights, tolerance and acceptance of diversity as well as promoting inclusion and intercultural learning.

The project will focus on the current refugee crisis and develops activities to raise awareness of the communities where the volunteers are hosted about the refugees. It will also aim to promote solidarity and cooperation especially by motivating organizations to engage with the refugees and offer support for them.

 

Volunteer profile:

  • Aged 18-30
  • From Poland / Slovakia / Turkey
  • Good communication/social skills
  • Social media knowledge and interests in social media development
  • Open to learn and being (self)motivated
  • Interested in writing
  • Responsibility, flexibility and proactive attitude are very appreciated
  • Experience and motivation for working with youth/children
  • Good level of English knowledge

 

General tasks of the volunteer:

  1. In the Office:
  •  logistic support in the office (sorting out materials, transporting them from CID to the event and back, etc.)
  •  administrative assistance in the office (archiving documentation)
  •  social media assistance (working on the website, updating it, maintaining the FB fun page)
  •  design promotional materials, leaflets, logos, posters, etc.
  •  assist the staff during ongoing activities
  1. In the Youth Center:
  • assisting the youth center coordinators
  • making educational and intercultural workshops for children 4+
  • logistic support in the youth center (sorting out materials, transporting them from the youth center to the event and back, etc.)
  • assist the staff during ongoing activities
  • visiting nearby elementary and secondary schools in the rural areas and making educational workshops for the pupils
  • making activities related to this project (flashmob, video, blog, debate, educational workshops related to raising awareness, movie projections and topic based discussions, charity events, living libraries, photoshoots, etc.)

Financial aspects of the project:

  • Accommodation will be covered by the hosting organization.
  • Food and pocket money  146 ЕUR
  • Travel costs will be covered up to 275 EUR return ticket
