In 2016 CID has renewed its commitment with SCI by joing the SAVA working group. As a result, Dragana Jovanovska joined the Coordinating Team of the SAVA WG and Neal Raimi attended the SAVA annual meeting in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The annual meeting for SAVA, organized between 5th and 9th of October in Novi Sad, focused on evaluating the activities organized during 2016 and on realizing the workplan for 2017, together with the budget planning. The member organisations expressed their interest in developing activities together throughout 2017 and in being in contact more for a better coordination.

For that purpose, the Coordination Team of the SAVA working group, which consists of 5 members, will take into their hands the fundraising activity for future activities and the project-writing process. Activities organised previously in the framework of the SAVA working group included study visits, workcamps, seminars and training courses, etc.

CID started its collaboration with SCI in 2007 and joined as a member since 2008. Service Civil International (SCI) is a volunteer organisation dedicated to promoting a culture of peace by organising international voluntary projects for people of all ages and backgrounds. The organisation consists of 45 branches and an ever growing number of partner organisations.

The SAVA Working Group coordinates the activities in South-Eastern Europe, mainly in the Balkan region. It was formed in 1992 during the wars and conflicts that took place in this region. SAVA´s mission is to develop values of peace, intercultural understanding, acceptance and environmental awareness through the promotion of volunteerism and empowerment of individuals and communities in the Balkans.

Our wish for the upcoming year is to actively engage in the promotion of the SAVA group and its activities among the partner organisations of SCI and to successfully implement the planned activities.
