Daniel_CarterSo in Febuary 2012 I have found myself residing in Kumanovo, How the came about is a strange story and not you usual EVS story.

Back in 2010 I was a Youth Worker for Cardiff Youth Service when one of my mangers said ‘I’m sending you to Czech Republic for a week’ to which I replied ‘OK’. I found myself on some ‘Social Media’ training surronded by crazy people from the continent. Two of which were some crazy girls from CID, they some (very easily) convinced that Macedonia was the place to be, at by a stroke of luck I was put on a training in Struga a few weeks later.

I stayed some extra days to visit my new friends and then came back to visit again, made new friends and came back again, and again, and again. Then after 5 visits in 1 months, EVS seemed like the only answer!

Sandra

I’m Sandra. I’m a new volunteer from Estonia. I arrived to Kumanovo 6 days ago. So, I am just in the beginning of my service and getting to know everything. Impressions so far are great! People are surprisingly friendly. I feel a lot like home.

And it is not due to the snow. People from CID make me feel so. Already from the first day I feel being a part of a group. My exact contribution is still in development, but as I have a marketing background one of my activities will be helping to promote MultKulti radio and participate in their work and help to promote CID in general.

This is my first time to be a volunteer of any kind. I am sure I am going to have a great time!
