Between June 1st and 3rd, Dragana Jovanovska from CID attended a multipliers event in Dublin, Ireland, together with our colleagues from Kreaktiv Kavadarci. The event had the purpose of presenting the results of the 2-year cooperation between Kreaktiv and Beyond 96, the Irish organisation with the presentation of a toolkit meant to support organizations working with EVS with fewer opportunities.

The toolkit targets practitioners who wish to support the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in EVS projects. It is an A-Z of how to support young people with fewer opportunities in EVS: from the benefits of EVS, the challenges, dealing with the challenges, turning the challenges into learning, pre-departure training, one to one support, effective mentoring for young people with fewer opportunities, the importance of working in partnership, AXA insurance, integrating the volunteer into the community, putting the emphasis on learning in EVS projects and youth pass and other key areas.

CID has been developing EVS projects since 2007; this toolkit is a useful instrument for guidance when going through all the crucial moments of implementing an EVS project. The Irish experience is valuable as well, given that Ireland has a long-lasting experience in youth work.

You can download the toolkit from the official webpage of Kreaktiv and give suggestions on how it can be improved.
