The project „Be Sustainable, Be Cool“ will last for three months (123 days), from August till December 2014 while the six-day activities will be held at the end of October (October 23rd till 29th, 2014) in the village Rukavac on the Vis Island. The project includes Croatia as the host country and 4 partner countries : Italy, Slovenia, Macedonia and Latvia. Four young participants (18-25 years) and one team leader from each country will participate in the project so the total number of participants will be 25.
Main objective of the project is understanding and promoting principles of sustainable development during socio-cultural dialogue among young people from different European countries. The participants will through various forms of non formal and informal learning acquire useful information on alternative economic models and its principles and practical implementation. Main focus will be given to active participation of participants and exchange of experiences and examples of good practices from their own countries related to alternative economic models that comply with sustainable development principles.
Also, the project aims to promote healthy lifestyle, open air activities, intercultural dialogue, solidarity and development of entrepreneurial skills among young people that subsequently encourage young people to take a more active role and make changes in the society.
Methodology:
We will use non-formal education methods, as following:
– Integrative activities (ice-breakers, team buildings, work in small groups, group presentations);
– Creative activities (practical workshops, individual and group brainstorming, theater);
– Learning-by-doing;
– Self-reflection.
Participants profile:
- Age limit: 16 – 25
- Be able to work in English
- Fully participate in all the workshops and activities on the Youth Exchange.
- Share the newly acquired knowledge with members of their sending organization once they get back from the exchange, and take part in the follow up activities.
- Be able to attend the entire duration of the Youth Exchange.
Travel and accommodation:
- Food and accommodation is covered 100%
- Travel costs will be covered up to 80 Euros.
