SCI Italy, within the framework of the Project “The year of inclusion”, supported by Erasmus+ , is organizing and hosting a Training course for Group Leaders.


About the hosting organization:

Service Civil International (SCI) is an international peace and volunteering organization with 45 branches and more than eighty partners world-wide. The main method used by SCI to promote peace and justice are short and long term international voluntary service projects. Furthermore we organize seminars and trainings to foster our objectives such as volunteering, non-violence, human rights, solidarity, respect for the environment, inclusion, empowerment and cooperation.


Short description of the project:

The objective of this event is to train 22 group leaders, who will then run activities related to the YUWG contest in order to accompany groups of young people with fewer opportunities to the Youth Exchanges during summer 2015. Participants will learn about the main tools needed for the successful coordination of a Youth Exchange (conflict resolution, understanding of different stages of the group in a Youth Exchange, non violent communication, leadership and group dynamics etc.) while deepening some of the key topics related to SCI and the YUWG Network.
A total of 2 people will go from CID Macedonia. 


Participant profile:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have experience with groups of young people with fewer opportunities, or interest to learn about the topic
  • have some previous experiences with Youth Exchanges or Workcamps could be useful but not mandatory
  • willing to learn and motivated to share experience with their sending organization after the event
  • be able to attend the full duration of the training


Financial details of the project:

  • Food and accommodation will be covered 100%. 
    The participants will be accommodated in La Citta dell’Utopia, only 15 minutes by public transport from the center of the city.
  • Travel expenses will be covered up to 275 EUR. 
    The participant must buy their own ticket and they will be reimbursed via bank transfer after the receipt of the original travel tickets and boarding passes.
