About the project:
The starting point of our project is the consideration of human rights and liberty that is one of the main principles of European Union. Our purpose is making people aware of that disabled people who is exposed to different prejudgment because of having different appearance, has the same rights as the other people. The participants’ aim is taking people’s attention to the conditions of disabled people in Europe and other countries.
We have taken part in different organizations for this reason so far. This organization which Turkey will be the host is going to be made on October of 2015 in Mersin, Turkey. There will be 49 young participants from 7 countries and at least 7 of them must be disabled. We will have the opportunity to contact more people through the agency of Mersin University, Mersin municipality, The Mersin Sports Directorships and different foundations of private education for disabled people by the citizens of region attendance. There are youngsters who succeeded to pass over the disadvantages of being disabled and people who wants to provide easier life for disabled people. So that our project cover directly the participants’ needs and interest.
The participants will come together to solve the problems by using the techniques such as brain-storm, discussion, answer-question, drama etc. Youngsters will have roles in every steps of project. In addition to this, many activity (short films, theatres, dance and handworks) groups will have the opportunities to develop their abilities will be made so that participants will both develop their abilities through their interest and works for theme. The visual point is as important as the ideal point of project. We will use internet actively for universalizing of our project results. We will share the link of web page of our project in social networking sites. We will make slides through the project process. In our project, we will share the short films of dramas which show the difficulties that disabled people has lived. In addition, we will reach to a wider audience through the agency of some materials such as poster, brochure, t-short, cap, bracelet, pencil etc., media and some leaders ‘Head Official of Mersin, Municipality etc.’.
After the result of our works in this project, our aim is to make positive awareness in more people by planning new works and activities about disabled people.
Profile of participants:
- 18 to 30 years old
- interest in the topic
- commitment to participate in all of the workshops and activities
- be able to attend the entire duration off the project
- be able to communicate in English
- be willing to share the gained knowledge with members of CID
Financial aspects of the project:
- Food and accommodation will be 100% covered by the organizers.
- Travel costs will be covered up to 170 EUR, for the cheapest means of transportation.
Reimbursement will be made after receiving all original tickets and boarding passes via bank transfer.
