15 – 21 November – Odiliapeel, teh Netherlands
It will start next Tuesday 15 November 2016 the international training course “Young Migrant Voices: a training course for boosting participation of young migrants in decision-making processes at local level”. The initiative, organized by ADYNE Netherlands in partnership with DYPALL Network (Developing Youth Participation at Local Level), and co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union, will be hosted at the “Oleander groepsaccommodatie” in Odiliapeel between 15 and 21 November.
The training, realized in the framework of the capacity building activities of DYPALL Network, brings to the Netherlands 30 participants, representative of civil society organizations, youth workers, youth leaders, and representatives of local authorities to share, debate and present their perspectives and understanding on youth participation in the decision making processes at local, national and European level. 11 countries will be represented, namely Austria, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Turkey.
This activity will be a space for participants to re-think their interventions related to young migrants and youth participation at local level answering questions like: how institutions can better respond to the need of young people; how they can better shape their initiatives to offer real scope for them to become actors and to take decisions, thus concretely encouraging their participation; which support should come from civil society and youth workers to support both parties. Based on the principles of non-formal education, the training aims at building competences and sharing practices of local youth workers to reach out more effectively to marginalised young people and prevent their violent radicalisation.
The public is invited to participate during the round table on “The Political Participation of young migrants” that will take place within the course on 17 November, at 14.30, where external guests as well as the participants will have a open debate.
