We started 2018 with great commitment to build teh internal capacity of the organisation, by hosting a training in the framework of the project ”STEP to Change, build the common path. A global initiative to empower youth organisations and to valorise the impact of volunteering”. The project is implemented by the CCIVS Network, and will last between January 2017 and September 2018.
The aim of this project is to empower IVS organisations according to each region’s needs in terms of organisational management and impact measurement and improvement. This shall be the start of a global diagnosis and the basis for the Monitoring and Empowerment System of the CCIVS.
The training that CID hosted was the regional training for Europe and included IVS organisations from Spain, Hungary, France, Greece and Macedonia. It focused on training organisations on management and impact according to their needs and local realities and on realizing a diagnosis of the needs and capacities on organizational level.
The 5-day training took place in Etno Selo, close to Kumanovo, and consisted of interactive sessions on diagnosis (using the pentagon as methodology), on networking and on impact assessment (reparation for interviewing).
The follow-up activity envisioned after the training included organizing a 1-day training for the staff of the organisation and conducting interviews in the local community to measure the impact of the activities and programmes of the organisation. As a hosting organisation, CID organised both activities on the 1st and the 2nd of February, with the support of the trainers´ team. The feedback that was collected in the process was afterwards discussed by the board and the interviews will be used by us to conduct a more thorough impact assessment in the local community.
