[CLOSED] Call for participants: Training Course “Promoting Youth Activism in Multiethnic Communities”

ABOUT THE TRAINING COURSE

The training will offer space for young people to build their competences on the topics of democratic values and principles, human rights, leadership, community resilience, intercultural dialogue and community trust building.

The group of youngsters will be mixed, ensuring diversity based on sex, ethnicity, geographical location, religion etc. The training will be co-facilitated bilingually in Macedonian and Albanian.

The 5-day training will be the first training and will focus on the creation of the group spirit and cohesion, as well the principles and values of human rights and the 2-day trainings will focus on specific topics, such as: Democracy, Active Youth Participation, Leadership, Community Resilience, Intercultural Dialogue, Community Trust Building, Volunteering, Advocacy and Project Management. The trainings will create a ground base of knowledge and skills on these topics and will also provide a space for young people to reflect on their common needs that need to be advocated in front of the local authorities, as well map the main challenges in the community when it comes to advocacy of youth issues.

Methods of non-formal education will be used during the trainings and the sessions consist of group work, simulations, role plays, and plenary discussions which will diversify the process and it will adapt to each learners’ ability. The trainings will be implemented outside of Kumanovo with an aim to create a better dynamics and team building, considering the diversity of the group of young people, but also will provide a space for the youngsters to get out of their communities and reflect on the issues and connections in the same.

  • 16-20 years old
  • Interested in topic
  • Highly motivated
  • Willing to participate in all activities during and after training course
  • The call is open for participants’ coming from the area of Municipality of Kumanovo, Lipkovo and Staro Nagoricane.

 

 

ACCOMMODATION and FINANCES:

Travel, accommodation and food will be 100% covered by the organizers.
