On 12th November 2022, Center for Intercultural Dialogue in cooperation with OSCE Mission to Skopje, Municipality of Kumanovo, Europe House Kriva Palanka, Ministry of Internal Affairs – Kumanovo and Army of North Macedonia organized the 5th edition of “BORN 2 RUN”. What a great way to enjoy and seize a beautiful sunny autumn day! Thanks to all the young, energetic and spirited volunteers everything went well, the event was perfectly organized and the goal was achieved. There were 2 different races, on 3 km and on 10 km. Almost 300 people showed interest to participate and it was really satisfying to see people from many cities in North Macedonia, and even out of the country, being into the sports and showing their desire to race and be part of this extraordinary event. There were 12 winners, 3 men and 3 women both on the 3 km and on the 10 km race.
One of the many good things about Born 2 Run is that we can be inclusive and have everyone participate, no matter the age, race, ethnicity, disability, etc. Thus, we show the values of Center for Intercultural Dialogue, which are intercultural acceptance, youth engagement and bringing together youngsters from all ethnicities and backgrounds. Members of the organization “Poraka nasha” this year again took part at the race.
This sport event was such a refreshment for the city in the middle of November and it was a great way to bring people outside of their homes on fresh air, to run, listen to some good music and make the city more alive. People also had the chance to take a look at the exhibition at the city square organized by the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia. Now we are all eagerly awaiting the next Born 2 Run. See you next year!
This project is supported by the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Municipality of Kumanovo, Europe House Kriva Palanka, Ministry of Internal Affairs – Kumanovo, Army of North Macedonia organized, Red Cross Kumanovo, Health center Kumanovo, Ritron Copy and Fluidi-M, Caffe Bar Ministerstvo, Caffe Bar Boutique, TAU DESIGNE.
Some statements from the volunteers:
It was an experience that many do not have the opportunity to have, it’s my first year being volunteers and being part of Born 2 Run I feel fulfilled that my volunteer experience allowed me to be a part of this event. My task was to support the participants from “Poraka Nasha” and I am thankful that I had the change to walk together with them through the streets of our city.

As a volunteer I’d have to say everything went as smoothly as possible. Everybody had their job and the mentors managed everything incredibly. It was a great experience to be part of Born 2 Run and I am looking forward to next year’s Born 2 Run.
