The conference “European Press Days 2023” took place in Paris, France, from April 14th to 16th, 2023. Paris, the capital city of France, offers a wide range of experiences for visitors. When you think of Paris, love immediately comes to mind, and it’s true—Paris is definitely a city that captures your heart.
The only drawback we encountered on the first day was the rainy weather, but it didn’t deter us from exploring this amazing city. My incredible dream team made the most of our time, allowing us to be disciplined participants while fully enjoying the beauty of Paris.
During the third edition of the European Press Days, we had an informative, inclusive, and surprising experience. Myself (Arta Sefadini), along with Fatlume Dervishi and Evi Shkopi, attended the conference, accompanied by Besart Shabani, the project coordinator from the Center for Intercultural Dialogue.
This seminar proved to be extremely helpful in understanding how journalists across Europe think and act. We had the opportunity to meet many professional journalists who were well-prepared and provided us with the right information. They made us more aware of our roles as journalists and taught us to think outside the box.
Over the course of the three-day training, we needed to concentrate and focus in order to grasp the discussions held by the panelists. During the Q&A sessions, we had the chance to participate as part of the public, asking questions of our own.
The panelists covered various topics, including climate issues, ecological activism, the role of social networks in informing people about climate issues, and, most importantly to me, how to combat fake news related to climate change. Aside from the valuable sessions, the coffee breaks were the highlight of the training and conference. These breaks allowed everyone to socialize and share their work and life experiences.
A few days later, as I reflected on the event, I started analyzing the behind-the-scenes aspects of the conference, what I learned, and how we, as journalists, can raise awareness on this important topic.
In conclusion, I want to emphasize that the group dynamic played a significant role in creating wonderful memories. I consider myself fortunate to have been part of the best group, and perhaps it was because of this group that I left Paris with so many beautiful memories.
