Objectives:
- to develop competencies of 20 young people to gain practical knowledge on democratic and youth participation which the participants can further multiply in their communities;
- to foster social cohesion through cooperation between the various ethnicities of Kumanovo and the region;
- to build a space to teach human rights, intercultural dialog, advocacy and building community trust;
Description: The Center for Intercultural Dialogue (CID) will use renewed Endowment support to promote youth civic engagement and dialogue in communities in North Macedonia.
This project is designed to address the rising need for active civic engagement of young people in the community. This CID Academy module will create space for young people to advance their skills many different topics relevant for them, such as Democracy, Active Youth Participation, Leadership, Community Resilience, Intercultural Dialogue, Community Trust Building, Volunteering, Advocacy, and Project Management. Starting with a 5 days training firstly we will be focused on creating the group spirit and cohesion, understanding the intercultural dialogue, and gaining knowledge about human rights. Afterward, we will continue with 10 weekend workshops on which they will expand their knowledge, improve their competencies and build their capacities for creative advocacy initiatives and campaigns. Later, the trained young people will have a task to create initiatives and implement them. Also, as part of this project round table will be organized. This event will gather the young leaders and the stakeholders for a mutual discussion on relevant topics. During the whole process a publication will be drafted. It will focus on gathering the best practices from the project as the main outcome for the new youth activists and will provide information’s regarding mechanisms for youth
participation in multicultural communities.
