OBJECTIVE:

Empower young participants from North Macedonia with the tools to identify and combat fake news within the context of European politics.

Foster Understanding of European Parliamentary Processes: Provide participants with a realistic understanding of how the European Parliament functions, particularly in the context of debating and shaping European policies. Simulate the roles and responsibilities of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and accredited journalists to offer a comprehensive learning experience.

FORMAT:

A two-day (6th, 7th of November working days) simulation where participants will alternate roles between Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and accredited journalists. The goal is to challenge the spread of misinformation and enhance participants’ fact-checking abilities.

 

OUTCOME:

Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how fake news impacts political discourse and the skills to organize similar events in the future.

 

PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILE

  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to communicate and work in English
  • Motivated to explore the topic and share your experience/expertise
  • Journalists non specialised in the EU questions
  •  Journalist students
  •  Associative medias

 

ACCOMMODATION and FINANCES:

All costs related to accommodation and food will be covered by the hosting organization.

Travel costs will be reimbursed up to 275 EUR.
