Project summary
“FOODPrint,” targeting unsustainable youth consumption patterns in Europe, empowers young individuals through innovative sustainability practices. The project aligns with the EU Youth Strategy, emphasizing active citizenship and transnational cooperation among youth organizations.
Spanning regions from West (The Netherlands, Germany), East (Romania, Slovakia, and North Macedonia), and South (Greece), “FOODPrint” fosters diverse youth exchanges. WP1 ensures effective project management through 6 TPMs and continuous evaluation, including midterm and final reports.
In WP2, Task 2.1 involves 18 Youth-focused CSOs staff in analyzing consumerism trends. Tasks 2.2.1, 2.2.2, and 2.2.3 focus on developing and training 24 youth workers on innovative blended learning NFE methodologies in Artivism and Doughnut Economics. A Food Eco-Labelling System (Task 2.3), a BOOT Camp in the Netherlands (Task 2.4), and six Conscious Consumerism Networking events (Task 2.5) further establish new connections with new 18 CSOs.
WP3 directly engages 60 ‘Future Food Influencers’ in training (Task 3.2) and practical needs analysis through investigating their environment (school/university Canteens, Fast-food chains and supermarkets) using the eco-labelling methodology (Task 3.3). In Collaboration with Forward43 for AI Sustainable Innovation Food Solutions (Task 3.4), Field Visits to FoodLabs to North Macedonia (Task 3.5), and hosting the Great Europe Bake Off Day Challenge (Task 3.7) involving 120 youths, providing a hands-on experiences that attract more than 1200 people watching in local markets.
WP4’s Communication Plan, alongside promotional activities and newsletters (Task 4.2 and 4.3), aims to reach nearly 4 million people, amplifying the project’s impact and visibility across Europe. “FOODPrint” strategically combines sustainability education, youth empowerment, and cross-regional collaboration, addressing pressing environmental issues through the lens of food consumption.
