The Center for Intercultural Dialogue (CID) is looking for a Local Communication Officer for the project District of Reconciliation.

The Local Communication Officer will have a working arrangement of 44.44% of full-time working hours for the duration of the engagement.

It is expected that the selected candidate will be available to work starting from 1 July 2025, for the period defined within the project implementation framework.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project aims to create an interdisciplinary platform for regional dialogue and trust-building in the Western Balkans. Special emphasis is placed on youth engagement, participation of local communities, cultural cooperation, and the promotion of intercultural dialogue. At its core, the initiative contributes to long-term peacebuilding and the strengthening of reconciliation efforts across the Western Balkans region.

The project brings together civil society organizations from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, forming a diverse and interdisciplinary consortium. The partnership includes organizations working on peacebuilding and reconciliation, youth participation, democratic development and EU integration, as well as institutions active in the field of arts and cultural production.

The project is co-funded by the European Union through the EU Civil Society Facility and Media Programme in favour of the Western Balkans and Turkey 2021–2023 (IPA III), aiming to strengthen the role of civil society in building participatory democracies and fostering reconciliation across the region.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Local Communication Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Implement communication-related duties for the purposes of the Project

  • Plan, prepare and implement communication and visibility activities in line with the Project Action Plan and Communication Plan

  • Prepare and manage communication content for websites, social media, newsletters, visual materials and other promotional outputs

  • Ensure proper application of EU and donor visibility and branding rules

  • Coordinate communication activities with the project team and partner organizations

  • Monitor, document and report on communication activities and achieved outreach results

  • Contribute communication inputs to narrative and progress reports

  • Maintain mailing lists, archive communication-related documentation and keep records of activities

  • Respect agreed timelines for communication outputs and reporting

  • Perform duties faithfully, honestly and responsibly, in accordance with the provisions of the Grant Agreement

  • Keep the project team informed and up to date with relevant communication materials and information

 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Macedonian

  • Experience in communication, visibility or media-related roles, preferably within the NGO or civil society sector

  • Willingness to work in a multicultural and dynamic environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational, time-management and multitasking skills

  • Experience with digital communication tools and social media platforms

  • Team-oriented and proactive attitude
