The Center for Intercultural Dialogue (CID) is inviting applications for the following positions within the District of Reconciliation Youth Camp:

One (1) Trainer for an Applied Theatre Workshop
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project Fostering the Culture of Participation in Regional Reconciliation Dialogue – District of Reconciliation, co-funded by the European Union, aims to create an interdisciplinary platform for regional dialogue and trust-building in the Western Balkans. Special emphasis is placed on youth engagement, participation of local communities, cultural cooperation, and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.
At its core, the project contributes to long-term peacebuilding and the strengthening of reconciliation efforts across the region, bringing together young people and civil society actors from North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania.
ABOUT THE YOUTH CAMP

Project dates: 22 – 27 September 2025

Project location: Berovo, North Macedonia
The youth camp will bring together young people from across the Western Balkans for an intensive learning and exchange experience. During the camp, participants will take part in interactive workshops focused on critical thinking, media literacy, and intercultural dialogue, as well as hands-on sessions using applied theatre and creative storytelling as tools for learning, expression, and dialogue.
The camp will also offer space for young people to co-create follow-up peacebuilding activities, strengthen regional cooperation, and build lasting connections and friendships. A special focus will be placed on the “Youth for Truth” approach, encouraging honest dialogue, reflection, and meaningful youth participation.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Trainers (2 positions)
The selected trainers will be responsible for:

Designing and delivering interactive workshops related to peacebuilding, media literacy, critical thinking, and intercultural dialogue

Applying participatory and non-formal education methods suitable for young people aged 16–26
-
Encouraging active engagement, dialogue, and collaboration among participants from different backgrounds
-
Supporting participants in the development of ideas for follow-up peacebuilding activities
-
Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Trainer for Applied Theatre Workshop (1 position)
The selected trainer will be responsible for:

Designing and facilitating an applied theatre workshop using creative and experiential methods
-
Using theatre, storytelling, and movement as tools for reflection, dialogue, and expression
-
Supporting participants in exploring themes of reconciliation, identity, trust, and coexistence
-
Encouraging collective creation and youth-led expression
-
Contributing to the overall learning objectives and atmosphere of the camp
TRAINER PROFILE
Applicants for both positions should:
-
Have experience in youth work, training, facilitation or education, preferably in peacebuilding, media literacy, intercultural dialogue or related fields

Have proven experience working with young people aged 16–26

Be comfortable working in a multicultural and regional environment

Have strong facilitation and communication skills
-
Be able to work in English (working language of the camp)

Be available for the entire duration of the camp (22–27 September 2025)
Additional requirements for the Applied Theatre Trainer:

Proven experience in applied theatre, forum theatre, playback theatre, or similar creative methodologies

Ability to adapt theatre-based methods to youth and peacebuilding contexts
