About the project:
The project Fostering the Culture of Participation in Regional Reconciliation Dialogue – District of Reconciliation, co-funded by the European Union aims to create an interdisciplinary platform for regional dialogue and trust-building in the Western Balkans. Special emphasis is placed on youth engagement, participation of local communities, cultural cooperation, and the promotion of intercultural dialogue. At its core, the initiative contributes to long-term peacebuilding and the strengthening of reconciliation efforts across the region.
About the youth camp:
During the camp, participants will take part in interactive workshops focused on critical thinking, media literacy, and intercultural dialogue. They will also join hands-on sessions that use applied theatre and creative storytelling as tools for learning and expression. The camp will offer young people the chance to co-create follow-up peacebuilding activities and build strong connections and friendships with peers from across the region. There will be participants from North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania. A special focus will be placed on the “Youth for Truth” approach, encouraging honest dialogue and meaningful engagement.
Participants’ profile:
- Aged 16–26
- Interested in peacebuilding, media literacy, and intercultural dialogue
- Motivated to learn, collaborate, and take part in regional activities
- Able to communicate in English (working language of the camp)
- Open to meeting new people and sharing experiences
- Available for the whole duration of the camp
- Ready to be actively involved in follow-up activities after the camp
