ABOUT THE PROJECT
The OSCE Mission to Skopje together with Center for Intercultural Dialogue Kumanovo (CID Kumanovo) will organize two dynamic Youth Leadership Trainings Series aimed at encouraging leadership, acquiring skills and promoting civic engagement among young people. The trainings will be held in picturesque locations in nature, where participants will be able to enjoy an inspiring environment while developing their skills. Each training will last four days and will welcome 20 participants coming from all regions in North Macedonia. The training program will include interactive workshops, team assignments, debates, simulation games and other activities that will help young people develop their leadership and communication skills.
Topics that will be covered:
- Encouraging youth participation in society and social processes: Participants will learn how to become active citizens and influence social change. Practical exercises and discussions on the role of youth in the community will be conducted.
- Acquaintance of young people with democracy and democratic participation: The principles of democracy and the meaning of participation in democratic processes will be discussed.
- Youth activism and leadership: Different forms of youth activism and ways in which young people can be involved in positive changes will be promoted. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from successful young activists and learn from their experiences.
- Youth participation: Various opportunities and platforms for youth participation at the local and national level will be discussed. Workshops on writing projects and applying for grants will be organized.
OBJECTIVES
Objectives of the trainings:
Developing leadership and teamwork skills: Through various activities, participants will improve their leadership skills and learn how to work effectively in a team. Training will be held on communication skills, conflict resolution and organizational skills.
Involvement of young people in civic activities and promotion of active citizenship: Encouraging young people to engage in civic activities and become active participants in the community. Actions will be organized to support local communities and volunteer activities.
Creation of a sustainable network of young leaders: Participants will have the opportunity to build a network of contacts and friendships with other young leaders from different parts of the country. Follow-up activities and online platforms for communication and cooperation will be organized.
PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILE
The training is intended for participants, who:
- 15-29 years
- Attendance at all activities is mandatory
- To show interest and commitment to participate in one of the two activities
ACCOMMODATION and FINANCES:
All costs related to accommodation, travel, training materials, food and refreshments will be covered by the OSCE Mission to Skopje.
